The Winning Process

Would you:

  • Have an operation before the doctor knows what's wrong?
  • Build your dream house without using blueprints?
  • Steer your boat to where there's a ton of fish...but leave holes in your net?

Then why would you update your website just based on aesthetics and best practices?

  • Like a doctor, you have to gather data, run tests, and figure out what's causing problems
  • Like an architect, you then have to map out what you think will fix those problems
  • Finally, like a fisherman, you have to plug the holes before worrying about how many fish are in the sea

An attractive-looking website just helps you not lose credibility, but it takes more than that to convince your visitors to become customers. And best practices are merely a starting a point. Sometimes best practices fail because what works on other sites in other industries isn't guaranteed to work for you.

That's why I'll NEVER take a quick look at your website and tell you what to fix so it makes you more money. If this is what you expect from me, then we're not a good fit. I can suggest plenty of conversion "experts" who will be happy to take your money to do that. But their suggestions can only scratch the surface if they're not taking the time to understand your target market, your industry, and to look at your website's data.

Instead, I follow a rigorous 5-step process to ensure you get a positive ROI:

  1. Understand your target market (this is the most important, yet most overlooked, aspect of having a persuasive website)
  2. Identify and prioritize the website's biggest conversion problems based on:
    1. Quantitative data
    2. Qualitative data
    3. Conversion and persuasion theories
    4. Analyzing your competitors
  3. Deliver the blueprints for a proposed solution
  4. Analyze to see whether it worked
  5. Repeat steps 2 - 4
